Welcome to Nashipay Maasai Initiative's Practical Permaculture Institute
The Nashipay Maasai Initiative proudly hosts an independent wing dedicated to the Practical Permaculture Institute. Our mission is to nurture sustainable practices that support local communities and the environment. At the institute, we offer various impactful programs, including:
1. Garden Enrichment:This initiative aims to support the school, Maasai Eco Boma, and neighboring communities by providing a fully home-grown feeding program.
2. Reforestation Work: We actively work on rehabilitating degraded soils and landscapes as part of global climate change mitigation efforts.
3. Permaculture Education Program:We offer comprehensive education to visitors, volunteers, Maasai communities, and school children on permaculture principles and practices.
We host two Permaculture Design Courses each year, along with periodic short-term courses. Our courses are renowned for their impact and excitement in the East African region. Seventy-five percent of the 72-hour course involves hands-on, practical experiences and on-site learning of various permaculture concepts and sites.
Note:International students are requested to pay slightly higher fees than local students to provide partial scholarships to needy applicants.
