DETAILED TRIP ITINERARY:
Day 1: Arrive at JRO –Arusha
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where our staff will warmly welcome you. Transfer to Arusha for an overnight stay at a hotel, booked on a bed and breakfast basis (BB).
Day 2: Arusha Park Biking:
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before departing at 0830hrs for Arusha National Park. Embark on a short game drive through the park en route to Ngorodoto Crater, where your ride will begin. This ride mainly circles the crater rim, offering breathtaking views into the crater. A ranger will accompany you as there's a chance of encountering buffalo. Other possible sightings include Colobus Monkeys, giraffes, and various bird species. The ride will take you along both gravel and animal tracks, which might get muddy, with some steep inclines and declines. A picnic lunch will be provided. At 1400hrs, depart the park and drive to Makuyuni, checking in at Maasai Eco Boma for dinner and an overnight stay..
Day 3: Maasai Eco Boma Biking and Tarangire park
Start your day with breakfast before departing at 0830hrs for a morning biking tour with the Eco Boma guide. Enjoy lunch back at the Eco Boma. At 1400hrs, embark on an afternoon game drive in Tarangire National Park. Return at 1700hrs to experience Maasai singing, dancing, and traditional storytelling around a bonfire, followed by dinner and an overnight stay at Maasai Eco Boma.
Day 4: Tarangire National Park - Karatu.
Start your day with breakfast before departing at 0800hrs for Tarangire National Park, arriving in time for lunch at the lodge. At 1500hrs, embark on an afternoon game drive in the park to spot lions, elephants, Lesser kudu, eland, gerenuk, and the elusive tree-climbing python. Baobab trees are scattered throughout the park. Leave the park at 1600hrs and drive to Karatu for dinner and an overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 5: Drive –to- Ngorongoro Crater.
After an early breakfast, depart at 0600hrs for Ngorongoro with a picnic lunch. Descend into the Crater floor for morning and afternoon game drives. The Crater is home to the Big Five—rhino, lion, leopard, buffalo, and elephant—as well as zebra, hippo, wildebeest, hyena, and more. Birdlife is abundant, including flamingos on the soda lake, geese, storks, vultures, and others. Enjoy your picnic lunch at Ngoitoktok swamp, a hippo pool. Continue game viewing after lunch and ascend the Crater at 1530hrs for dinner and an overnight stay at a lodge in Karatu, booked on a full board basis (FB).
Day 6: Ngorongoro -to– Central Serengeti National Park.
After breakfast, depart at 0830hrs for Serengeti National Park, enjoying game drives en route from Ngorongoro. Relish the journey through the reserve, where you'll observe traditional Maasai bomas and herds of livestock. There's an optional visit to a Maasai village for $50 per group in one vehicle.
The Serengeti is arguably the most renowned wildlife sanctuary globally. Covering 15,000 square kilometers, it is home to 3 million large mammals. Within its expanse, you'll find over 35 species of plains animals, including zebra, wildebeest, eland, and giraffe, alongside the iconic Big Five: elephant, lion, buffalo, leopard, and rhino. The park also serves as the stage for one of the world's most spectacular natural events—the annual wildebeest migration. Beginning around June, over 1 million wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles migrate towards the Maasai Mara in Kenya in search of greener pastures, followed closely by the savanna's predators like lions, cheetahs, wild dogs, jackals, hyenas, and vultures. Day 7: MIGRATION Central -to– North Serengeti National Park.
After breakfast at your lodge, depart at 0730hrs for the northern part of Serengeti National Park, enjoying game viewing and lunch along the way. Continue with afternoon game drives along the river, aiming to witness the migration crossing as the sun sets. Day 8: Full day in North Serengeti Park.
After an early breakfast, depart for a full day along the Mara River. Spend the day taking both morning and afternoon game drives, aiming to witness the migration crossing. Your driver will collect a picnic lunch from the lodge, allowing ample time for game drives. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at the camp, booked on a full board basis (FB).
Day 9: Serengeti – fly to– ZANZIBAR. Enjoy breakfast at your camp before transferring to Kogatende airstrip at 0800hrs. Your flight will depart at 0925hrs and arrive in Zanzibar at 1420hrs, where you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel.
